Proxanity - Resistance feat. Egomind Promo Artwork by Gunnar Ingi Jósepsson

"Resistance" is about humanity´s unwillingness to take a stand to stop pollution, through governmental reforms, regulations of corporations, weak promotion of green technology and most importantly through the unconscious behaviour of our collective. Not only the rich few have generally ignored science about our carbon footprint but also mass population. Our procrastination to minimize toxic habits has contributed to our world´s exponentially steady decline. The resistance to change found in the Egomind´s programming could doom us to a contaminated and destroyed world if we don´t bust through this painful psychological phenonmenon together.

Proxanity "Colored Mind" Artwork by Gunnar Ingi Jósepsson

If you are a heavy metal fan leaning on the alternative metal or progressive metal side, this band is totally worth checking out. I hope to work with my friends in Proxanity again as they are just full of positivity, energy and I cherish all the moments I had with them gigging and travelling through Central Europe. These are passionate and heavily talented people, from Siggi´s raspy vocals chunky riffing and unique songwriting, Kristjáns accurate punchy and technical drumming + tech saavy cinematography skills, Gunnar´s insane soloing vocalizations and compositions, Kiddi´s monstrous bass playing and Fannar´s mystical soundscapes. They are just immensely underrated, thoughtful, passionate and humble dudes worthy of your attention. Their debut album "Colored Mind" is available on most streaming services. My favorite track on this album is "Never Ending Road", Gunnars vocals here are his best on the album and they are goosebump inducing.

Shitty Edited Urðun Logo

Urðun´s first demo EP "Horror and Gore" released in 2015 is the rawest recorded material I have ever been a part of, the demo was recorded in the infamous rehearsal studio the "Gúlag" in Akureyri, Iceland. Despite that the songs do shine through and I have especially fond memories playing "Mortuary" live, people really dug this song and we usually played this track in encores. This material is not for the faint hearted or at least not for people that can´t handle gory imagery and lyricism, go watch Braindead/Dead Alive as a prestarter. Urðun´s major inspirations apart from old school death metal are classic cult horror b-movies and people should keep that in mind, though this particular song always gives me chills as the lyrical nature of it is quite disturbing and the dirtyness of the production really compliments that. It´s a Urðun Classic, a must listen for any death metal fan. I am quite honored to have done my part though all songwriting credits from this demo EP goes to Þorvaldur Guðni Sævarsson, and those smooth as fuck drumming is none other than Dagur Atlason, an up and coming drummer known for his contribution to Church House Kreeper and Volcanova except this was before all that, it just can´t get any better than that.

Urðun "R.I.P." EP 2017 Artwork by Skadvaldur

In 2017 Urðun´s and Taphos Nomos´ split EP "R.I.P." was born through Caligari Records. With a slight production upgrade and input from our new drummer, Bjarni Einarsson, a multi-instumentalist who took it upon himself to mix and master the Urðun EP. We got a slightly polished sound and more traditional heavy metal oriented material as well as some doom inspirations. Our favorite opener for any setlist would be "Tortured to the Grave" but my personal favorite song is "Grafir og Bein". Valdi goes all Icelandic, the song is a little bit more melodic (shit, the "m" word) and doom inspired which adds a bit of variety and versatility.

Thunder Tits was the first ever band for many of us. It is a beloved nostalgia and something we fondly recall for all the great teenage memories reside around this band. Rest assured that one day there will be a proper release. Most of the songs were written around 2012 by Skaðvaldur but slowly they are being re-recorded. Half of the members went into different life directions (though always with music in their hearts) and three of the original six are investing a lot of time into other music projects. This has made Thunder Tits susceptible to taking a backseat. We hold onto the hope that one faithful day it will be made available in the cloud of humanity´s most ambitious creations. Until then only demos will have to suffice to satisfy the unbearable thirst.

Come With Me is definitely a favorite. Interestingly at the time the band really disliked the song but throughout time it has grown to become one of our favorites, I guess the audience was right since it was the most popular one among the crowd. Come With Me packs a good culmination of the band´s sound, atmosphere and direction as the love for classic cult horror movies, 70s and 80s heavy metal, rpg video games and Dungeons and Dragons atmospheres are prominent on it.
