The songs of "Skyfolk" always revolve around a story in the sci-fi universe of "Skyfolk" which we created. The first single "A Thousand Lights at Night" is the first song on the long-awaited "Cloud Forest City". It tells the story of a man from an unknown future and an unknown planet. He is at sea fishing, listening to the gentle waters while contemplating life. After an hour of rowing he finally reached the shores but the night had settled which prompted him to lay camp near the shores. He blissfully falls asleep with the sound of calm waters, owls howling and rustling leaves from the trees beside the shore. The blissful beginning of sleep was however unfortunately disrupted by the darkness of his human mind, a darkness found in all, the worry, resistance, fear and trauma that had converged through decades, through lifetimes and through pain. The way for the mind to cope with hardships of the past, future, present, fate and destiny. A nightmare.. Vivid dreams of pain, sorrow, death and insanity consumed his mind, he felt the wrath of God, his warning call. The feeling of deja vu, the feeling that the dream had happened before, would happen over and over again, through a different extension of his being, forever and for eternity. A paradoxial truth hard to swallow. As if destiny and fate was about to play out that would change him forever. An inevitable fate impossible to stop. A destiny fulfilled by consequences and coincidences algorithmically programmed by God. A prohecy.
